    Phoenix Theatre

Phoenix Theatre is a year-round, 30-year-old professional company presenting live contemporary theatre in an intimate setting. From recent Broadway hits to undiscovered gems from around the country, we produce emotionally engaging works—made even more powerful and compelling by the intimacy of our 130-seat Livia and Steve Russell Stage and our 65-seat cabaret style Frank and Katrina Basile Stage.

It is not by chance that we embrace topics that are happening now. We choose plays that illuminate the human connection; plays that discover some truth about what keeps us separate from each other and how we may learn to be closer. Our performance spaces support and inform our aesthetic.

Our relaxed, informal atmosphere also makes the theatre a great place to meet friends, sip a glass of wine, and have a great conversation about what you just saw.

Phoenix Theatre is a member of the National New Play Network and the League of Indianapolis Theatres, and is supported by the Indiana Arts Commission, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as local corporate and foundation funders and individual donors.

Productions include provocative language and content. Call regarding appropriateness for those 16 and younger.
